The longest running music festival in South Africa, Splashy Fen, is back for its 26th birthday and it looks like it should be it’s best one yet. Pedro Carlo, the organiser, has been teasing and taunting the avid festival-goers over this holiday season with hints of what to expect over this year’s Easter holiday.
Splashy has a lot planned for its Splashy Fenners this year, promising more stages, a brand new layout, extreme sports, new stand-up comedy acts and a wider variety of food and drinks stalls. And, of course, a wild line-up. Furthermore, Jose Cuervo is going to be taking the reigns of the Main Stage on the Saturday, so expect a huge party with good music and plenty drank. All of that thrown into the heart of Underberg, with its rolling hills, blue sky and sunshine, and flowing river – its a complete set up for the best 5 days of your life.
So far, the line-up includes aKing, Shortstraw, The Plastics, Taxi Violence, Beast, KAHN, Majozi, Urban Creep, Reburn, Hot Water, Gage, Sannie Fox, Beloved, Seb Goldswain Band, The Kiffness, Rowan Stuart and Catherine Greenfell. There are still many acts to be announced so get excited!
Early bird tickets have sold out, but general tickets for the whole weekend are available at Computicket for R625. Tickets will also be available at the gate but for a higher price so make sure not to miss out. For more updates, stay glued to Archetype Online and the official Splashy Fen event, Facebook group and website.
